Wellbeing special | Breast Cancer

Welcome to the Radio Gorgeous Wellbeing special, with Josephine Pembroke and co-host Donna Freed. This week we’re talking about breast cancer, a disease which affects 1 in 8 women, and touches the lives of many more.

Breast Cancer is a disease which touches so many women’s lives, in many different ways, and for the lucky women who overcome it, the journey doesn’t end once you get the all clear. We spoke to Sophie Stewart about the process of reconstructive surgery, and what it has meant to her.
Next, we talk to a daring and high flying woman in more ways than one, Anne Waldron. This Former Global Director at top law firm, Baker and & McKenzie, has announced that she’ll be swapping her usual work place attire for a bright pink jump suit, as she joins the elite band of women known as the Breakthrough Booby Birds who are taking part in a sponsored sky dive to raise money for cancer.

New York playwright Kate McKamy shares with us the moving personal story of how she has dealt with her diagnosis
so far.
And finally, Professor Jane Plant from Imperial College explains the thinking behind her no-dairy breast cancer prevention programme.
