SHOW LENGTH: 1 hour and 15 mins
Inspired by our Author of the Week we find out, can you keep a secret? Josephine and Donna discuss are secrets a good thing or a bad thing?
AUTHOR OF THE WEEK – Deborah Cohen – FAMILY SECRETS
Deborah Cohen is an American historian who specialises in social history. Her latest book is FAMILY SECRETS: Living with Shame from the Victorians to the Present Day. On a Liverpool platform a heartbroken mother hands over her bastard child for adoption. In an Edinburgh town house a grandmother frets that the darkening shadow on her charge’s upper lip will give away her Eurasian heritage. Or a Cotwolds vicar who chronicles his sexual longings for other men and banks his diary in a vault, sewed up in calico and wrapped up in parchment.
Drawing upon her own research Deborah offers sweeping and often surprising accounts of how shame has changed over the last 2 centuries.
CAROLYNE FAULKNER – PYSCHIC ASTROLOGER
Josephine went to swanky Home House in Chiswick to meet the fascinating psychic astrologer Carolyne Faulkner. Carolyne has appeared on Sky TV and Talk Radio Europe and today she is going through each star sign to tell us what is in store for us this summer. But first of all Josephine asked Carloyne about being psychic.
ANNE TILBY – TORTURED SOLES
Do you own high heeled shoes that are attracting dust at the bottom of your wardrobe? Artist Anne Tilby now only wears flats and wondered what to do with her redundant shoes. Josephine went to the opening of her Exhibition TORTURED SOLES in Soho’s Frith Street.
And as Julian Clary said about the show Shoes that make you smile, think, cry and stamp your feet. Clarke’s will never be the same.” –
