He is the publisher of a left wing magazine and she a writer for the magazine in hard drinking New York. When tragedy strikes, Nell uncovers the uncomfortable truths in her marriage. Her previous novel are Next to Love, Scottsboro – which was shortlisted for the Orange Prize – The Boy Who Loved Anne Frank and Lucy.
